Shelton McElroy
Shelton McElroy is National Director of Strategic Partnerships of The Bail Project.

Prior to joining TBP, Shelton worked with Parent Advocacy and Participatory Defense in Louisville, KY, assisting parents in the reunification process with their children and using organizing tools to fight the criminal justice system. As a formerly incarcerated individual who was a ward of the state in foster care for over 15 years, Shelton works daily to dismantle dehumanizing systems of oppression.

Michael Deegan Mccree
Michael Deegan-McCree is the partnerships coordinator at The Bail Project.
Michael comes to TBP from #cut50, where he served as the policy associate helping to lead state and federal legislative efforts. At #cut50, Michael played a pivotal role in helping pass the First Step Act, which The New York Times said would “deliver the most significant changes to our criminal justice system in a generation.” Michael believes in working with bipartisan coalitions to alter the national narrative.
